“Seasons – The Really Early Stuff”

26 09 2009

Hello friends and comrades……..
In the absence of any actual new music from Dementio13, I’ve been trawling through my many outtakes and discarded tracks. Anyway, I thought I’d put them out as a loose compilation…of 54 tracks recorded between 1997 and 2001.
Some of the tracks are obviously sketches or half-ideas; but some of them are fully formed tracks which I’m actually quite proud of. Their lack of familiarity (to me) was a bit of a breath of fresh air…. and I had to remind myself that I’d recorded them!

Anyway, Last.fm wouldn’t let me upload an album of 54 tracks, so I’ve had to upload them as 4 ‘volumes’ (“Free leatherette binder with your first volume…”!).

So, sift through the crap and find some gems in there!
I sincerely hope you like it…..

Paul

MySpace/Facebook Pages Updated

29 08 2009

Just thought I’d drop a hint and ask you to go and visit my various recently updated MySpace pages; I know MySpace is rather passe now (“its sooooo 2005″), but y’know, one has to keep up appearances!

Anyway, there are some free downloads over there (though better quality downloads can be had at dementio13.bandcamp.com and Last.fm):

Dementio13 at MySpace

Sal Boca at MySpace

Cwtch at MySpace

CutMat at MySpace

Meanwhile, please come and add yourself to my Facebook page.

Thanks!

A PS: myspace pages are starting to look as garrish and confusing as the lights of Vegas (though, in reality, more like Blackpool) with innumerable badges, buttons and backgrounds………so I’ve tried to strip mine back a bit. Not exactly eye catching, but if someone’s viewing it, the hooks already been bitten, right?

New Cwtch Track – City To City

24 08 2009

The new single version of the Cwtch song, “City To City” has been released. You can download a free 128kbps MP3 at Last.fm and Bandcamp.com; or a better (320kbps) quality version at cwtch.bandcamp.com. Its a cool and laid-back piece of melancholia, including lyrics by Travvy, and of course, Paul and Marie’s sensibility for music and vocals. Please check it out.
Thanks!

New Album – Free to download

14 08 2009

I’ve got a new album finished and I’ve posted it on Last.fm as a free download for all interested parties!
It’s entitled ‘Plate One’…don’t really have a reason why….words just sometimes come into my head!
Anyway, it’s dark, it’s coarse, it’s occasionally chilled…so hopefully you’ll like it.

Download or listen HERE.

New Dementio13 Album Coming Soon!

16 07 2009

New Dementio13 album (title TBA) coming in three to four weeks time. The usual mixture of electronic eclecticism with a twist, some new ideas, some borrowed, some blue. It’ll be available on iTunes and as streams on Last.fm. Keep your ears open…

Neil’s been at it again!

12 07 2009

Neil McCann (muuwmuuw) has produced a series of videos for Spacek Cadet tracks. They’re soporific mini-essays and could be seen as ‘ambient video’. See it here – http://vimeo.com/5514177

New Cwtch album – also pages/blogs at Blogspot, Facebook, Myspace and Reverbnation

3 02 2009

The title says it all really! Please come over and join us or just say “hi”.

The album, ‘Cwtch’, has now been released and can be bought at:

Nine tracks of sheer delight!
But don’t just take my word for it, here’s what Mark Whitby of Dandelion Radio said:

“Dementio13 has been doing some of the most exciting electronic stuff of
recent years whatever he’s turned his hand to (I’d highly recommend
last year’s ‘Blacklung Mixer’ album), and Pixieguts adds that further
dimension of both sound and space that allows the stuff to reach into
spectral areas that even he doesn’t get to alone. It’s like a sonic
magician with an assistant that sounds pretty one moment, the next is
sawing herself in half.

But I’m conscious that my descriptions get nowhere near describing what
the music of Cwtch is like. You’ve got to hear it, which is why I’ve
given over some of my February show on Dandelion Radio to previewing
four of their tracks. I could have played something from the new Von
Bondies album, more from the Future Of the Left live album, of some of
those Diplo remixes he’s put out. But I thought it was more important
that you heard what Cwtch were doing, and I didn’t want to leave it to
just one track.”
